![]() Users of the strong style typically utilized an aggressive stance, the lightsaber held high and back, ready to deliver wide, powerful swings. " Come get me, Jedi!" ―The signature taunt of the Disciples of Ragnos, who were known to use the strong style Applications ĭesann using the strong style against Kyle Katarn. Thus, it was almost solely utilized in lightsaber combat. It was also not suited for deflecting blaster shots as the stance required that the user shift the blade quite a bit to cover his body. Utilizing the strong style often left one open to counterattacks, putting them at a disadvantage in terms of speed comparisons against faster opponents, although a sufficiently skilled practitioner could mitigate this. This style was quite destructive, and if a practitioner was presented with an opening, they would almost always land a devastating blow. It could inflict more damage than the other lightsaber forms of its time which, coupled with its range, made it especially effective against single opponents armed with melee weapons. The strong style was based primarily on wide, powerful strikes to batter through an opponent's defenses, sacrificing speed for unrivaled power. I don't play a lot of Jedi Academy, and tbh I prefer blasters, because I guess I'm just uncivilized, but the above helped me a lot and got me to stop spamming.Kyle Katarn in the basic stance of the strong style. At max lightsaber defense and in front of a group of blaster wielding enemies, you can hold up blue all day and NOTHING is getting through you. I hate the animations for it in vanilla, but I love the fact that it basically makes you a tank. Your character will attempt to auto block most of the time if you have your lightsaber positioned in the direction of the opponent's saber and your lightsaber defense skill doesn't completely suck, but you can't attack and defend at the same time. You can't just spam attacks and expect to win. The biggest thing that's helped me (especially with blocking in vanilla) is that you need to find a fine balance between attack and defense. I got a lot of this information from here and personal observation: So it's definitely a little quirky (as it should be since in the lore double-bladed lightsabers were actually incredibly difficult to use). You dish out a lot of damage, but you're limited to the range of fast. You're entirely limited to the fast style, even if you turn off one of the lightsabers.ĭouble Bladed is like a combination of medium and fast. The biggest disadvantage is that it's a bit messy to use imo and you lack the power hitting of strong. You basically get the range and speed of fast, but with double the damage (because it's two lightsabers). Think Darth Vader/Anakin or Count Dooku respectively.ĭual Lightsabers are basically just a combination of double fast. ![]() It's horrible with blocking blaster fire and all around horrible for blocking other lightsabers as well. Lastly you have Red (aka Strong) which is the most aggressive lightsaber style, but also the most defenseless. "It is simple, and its simplicity is strength." - Kreia. You won't be blocking every blaster bolt or lightsaber strike, but won't be a sitting duck either. Yellow (aka Medium) is a good middle ground. Which is Obi-Wans signature lightsaber style. ![]() Blue (aka Fast) is the most defensive stance and has the capability to block a mass majority of blaster fire and lightsaber attacks. ![]() Someone really good at Fast style could counter someone who just spams Strong style all day.Īlso, the rock-paper-scissors formula of the vanilla game really only applies to offense. But this is still heavily determined by the player's own skill. Blue (Fast) counters Yellow (Medium) while Yellow (Medium) counters Red (Strong) and Red (Strong) counters Blue (Fast). The stances are basically rock-paper-scissors.
